The Social celebrates it’s 15th birthday in W1, join the party.

This year marks the fifteenth anniversary of our venue The Social, and twenty years since we kicked off proceedings with the legendary ‘Sunday Social’ club night at The Albany.

Nestled in W1 on Little Portland Street, since 1999 The Social has been our spiritual home and that of many others. Built on a simple manifesto – the venue provides great music and better booze to anyone who fancies tripping through the doors.

This year we have marked the occasion every Friday with the ‘Heavenly Social’ — a weekly party in our basement to get people dancing and smiling. Since January the basement has been rammed with stand out DJ sets from Fat Boy Slim, Justin Robertson, Hannah Holland and Tim Burgess (to name but a few!)

If that wasn’t enough the upstairs bar has also been providing everyone with a whole range of music to get stuck into, coming from our cherished ‘Heavenly Jukebox.’

Plus the boys behind the beloved box have some stomping tracks lined up for the party:

Jeff Barrett’s Picks

Fever The Ghost — Source (Leo Zero dub remix) (Heavenly)
Fumaça Preta — Pupilas Dilatadas (Soundways)
Crime — Gangster Funk (B Square)
Kid Congo and The Pink Monkey Birds — Su Su (In The Red)
King Gizzard and The Lizrad Wizard — Slow Jam 1 (Heavenly)
Allah Las — Ferus Gallery (Innovative Leisure)
Walter “Whiz” Whisenhunt Orchestra featuring Gloria Ann Taylor — Love Is A Hurting Thing (Music Gallery)
Nana Love — Disco Documentary ((Nestor Records LP)
The Braz Gonsalves Seven — Raga Rock (Jazzman)
Partick Cowley — Journey Home (Schhol daze)

With the official birthday coming up next Friday October 17th, we are marking the special day by throwing yet another evening to remember, and you’re all invited.
