‘No Cops’ will be released as a 7″ single on January 22nd. Consequence of Sound are streaming the track here:
“Right away, Traeger’s fever dream drumming and Bowden’s thumping bass line call back to distinctly Texas take on tripped out blues. Blackwell’s guitar sounds like a peyote vision feels like, all layered swirls and fuzzed out reverb. Vocally, he brings to mind the pinched style of The Cave Singers’, only with a more breathless vibrato. It straddles the line between rollicking fun and frustrated disenfranchisement as Blackwell sings, “Got nothing better then find a stash or two/ Even the cops gonna give me a hard time/ Ain’t gonna lose my cool, I just gotta find a good line.”
“No Cops is a dirty-as-hell pieces of blues-driven psych, reminiscent of T-Rex at their preening best yet filtered through the haze of a bad trip.” — Clash Magazine
“Due out in January, Night Beats’ new album ‘Who Sold My Generation’ is a collection of scorching fuzz-rock, and new track ‘No Cops’ is the ideal scene setter.
As steadfast as the title might suggest, it links up with ‘Sunday Morning’ in previewing the record’s enveloping wall of dark and gloomy rock, lifted out of the murk by an anthemic, sunny-side up streak of madness.” — DIY Magazine
‘No Cops’ features on the bands forthcoming album ‘Who Sold My Generation’ which will be released on January 29th.
The band kick off their European tour in Dublin on January 21st and conclude in Amsterdam on February 22nd.
