“Loads of bands we write about have day-jobs in order make their night-time lives as musicians work, but Amber Arcades has one of the most interesting. At home in The Netherlands Annelotte de Graaf works as a legal aide on UN war crime tribunals during the week. Her most recent cases have seen her working in human rights law helping people leaving Syria.
The story goes that after writing a bunch of songs she saved up and all her savings on flying to New York to record her debut LP with The Men’s Ben Greenberg after researching that he’d worked on a bunch of her favourite albums. A couple of guys from Quilt and Real Estate formed a band to help record it.
The result is ‘Fading Lines’ which comes out on Heavenly on 3 June, and below you can listen to the title track.”
Following three dates supporting Nada Surf, Amber Arcades have announced a series of headline shows around the release of the album. ‘Fading Lines’ is out on June 3rd and we’re delighted that the band are also doing a series of European shows in the summer too.
