VIDEO: King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard premiere 3D ‘Cellophane’ video

King Gizard & The Lizzard Wizzard

3D glasses at the ready, folks! After announcing their signing to Heavenly, we’re pleased to share the new video from Aussie “fried theremin wielding psychopaths” (their words) King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, as premiered by Pitchfork.

‘Cellophane’ is the first single taken from forthcoming album ‘I’m In Your Mind Fuzz’ and naturally it comes with a mind-meltingly trippy 3D video courtesy of Jason Galea, who said of the concept: “Stu gets taken into the 3rd dimension wearing cellophane glasses and becomes too big for the world so he gets spat out.”

The band’s Stu Mackenzie adds: “We originally nicknamed cellophane “math” because the song is based around three dynamic sections (tight — heavy — loose — repeat) over four lyrical sections (verse — cellophane — doo — instrumental — repeat). We thought we were clever at the time but you can’t really tell anymore. We recorded it at Daptone in Brooklyn but it didn’t turn out soul either. We made the clip in 3D because we thought it would be funny. If you can’t find any 3D glasses you can just pretend.”

Watch the video here and read on for forthcoming UK dates. Don’t miss out!
