P.O.W.E.R.U.L P.I.E.R.R.E Video

Following the release of their debut album ‘Highest Point In Cliff Town,’ Hooton Tennis Club have a new video for their third single ‘P.O.W.E.R.F.U.L P.I.E.R.R.E.’

An animation by Alden Volney, the video is a nod to some of the best sixties cartoons. Noisey premiered the video here:

“As we all know, whether you’ve seen one of the above shows, or you’ve seen one of their even older cartoons from the 60s, Hanna Barbera are an old-time cultural staple. Now they’ve inspired the latest video from Hooton Tennis Club for track “P.O.W.E.R.F.U.L P.I.E.R.R.E” — which is fitting, because its alphabetised chorus sounds exactly like the theme song from a cartoon you would watch while enjoying cereal on a Saturday morning on getting loaded on party rings before doing your homework.”

P.O.W.E.R.F.U.L P.I.E.R.R.E.’ is the third single from the bands debut album ‘Highest Point in Cliff Town’ it follows ‘Jasper’ and ‘Kathleen Sat on The Arm of Her Favourite Chair.’

Available as a limited 7″, purchase ‘P.O.W.E.R.F.U.L P.I.E.R.R.E.’ here.

“Few recent debuts have felt quite so enjoyable.“
MOJO Magazine — ★★★★

“Top titles and strong hooks on this indie debut.“
Uncut Magazine

“Best of all, the songs are as good as their titles: 1990’s slacker guitar rock played with wit, charm and confidence .”
The Sunday Times Magazine

“The hit rate is impressive: the gently psychedelic Jasper is anthemic, while suburban-recluse groover P.O.W.E.R.F.U.L P.I.E.R.R.E is agreeably perverse.”
Q Magazine

“Hooton Tennis Club have produced a debut that’s utterly irresistible: a summer soundtrack that makes staring out of the train window significantly less mundane.”
DIY Magazine — ★★★★

Hooton Tennis Club will be touring the record this Autumn with a series of UK headline shows and European appearances.
